Derek Lam has partnered with Cliff Lede Vineyards to release his very own wine
Derek Lam has teamed up with Cliff Lede Vineyards to create his very own limited edition cabernet sauvignon. Lam’s wine is made from hillside fruit from Cliff Lede’s own Poetry Vineyard and has been aged for two years in French oak barrels. The blend is 76 percent cabernet sauvignon, 14 percent merlot, six percent petit verdot, three percent franc and one percent malbec.
“After getting to know Derek and learning that he is originally from the Bay Area and has a passion for food and wine, a collaboration marrying both design and fine wine seemed a natural fit” Cliff Lede, owner of the vineyard, has told WWD.
“Poetry by Derek Lam” was blended by the designer in 2010 and only 47 cases of his wine will be available in October of this year. Lam’s wine will be available through Cliff Lede’s and Lam’s mailing lists as well as Neiman Marcus. Packaged with black tissue paper and black ribbon with a black wax seal inside a customized branded wooden wine crate, each bottle goes for $210.
Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on a chance to taste some of Derek Lam’s fashion forward wine!
