Jay Z to possibly collaborate with Barneys New York for their holiday campaign
Could rapper Jay Z be adding designer to his long list of accomplishments? From being top MC to successful businessman to husband to none other than The Queen B, it seems that Jay Z only knows success. Luxury retailer Barneys New York has taken note and the two have been in talks about a possible collaboration.
Jay Z’s most current album Magna Carta… Holy Grail which dropped July 9th, shows how his interests in art and fashion have expanded. With songs like “Picasso Baby” to “Tom Ford,” Jay Z raps about Rothko, Jeff Koons, MoMa, Leonardo Da Vinci to even Riccardo Tisci. But who could forget Jay Z’s six hour long performance piece, rapping “Picasso Baby” non-stop at the Pace Gallery in New York, which was heavily recorded for Instagram and Vine (look below for a clip).
With his knowledge of art and interest in fashion, will Jay Z’s collaboration with Barneys New York be the next must-have collaboration to count down for? If they are partnering up for Barneys’ infamous holiday campaign then thankfully we won’t have to wait long for an update!
