Manolo Blahnik Lives in a Shoe Masoleum


Manolo Blahnik is not only allergic to wine and vinegar, but also lives with up to 30,000 shoes

Manolo Blahnik’s interview with John Heilpern for Vanity Fair not only showed a different side of the “holy man of heels” but also let everyone know that his house is filled with his own designs. Although he lost count, Blahnik confidently states that his houses in England are also home to 25,000 to 30,000 pairs of prototype Manolos.

“I live in a shoe museum! ‘Shoe mausoleum’ would be better! I lost about 300 in a flood in London. But it’s O.K. I saved some of them,” Blahnik tells Heilpern over lunch.
