After being convicted of tax evasion, Dolce & Gabbana are claiming they will shut down if their verdict is not overturned
After being convicted of tax evasion by a Milan court (read more here), Dolce & Gabbana are currently appealing the verdict and are willing to shut down if the case is not overturned. In June the duo were found guilty of evading more than 400 million euros in taxes and were sentenced to pay more than 400 million euros along with a year and eight months in prison.
Adamant that they have done no wrong doings, Dolce & Gabbana have stated that they are willing to close if their guilty verdict is not overturned.
“We will close,” Dolce states to Italy’s Local paper. “We will not be able to resist. It’s impossible.” Gabbana goes on to say to Bloomberg that they are not mad at Italy and that “everybody knows we’re innocent”.
The Dolce & Gabbana stores in Milan were temporarily closed with the lawsuit overwhelming the company, but hopefully the temporary closure of the stores was just that- temporary.
