Tom Ford is going where many designers have not quite gone and is producing makeup for men
Tom Ford is not plunging deep into the men’s makeup scene, but is starting out with a very basic approach at men’s facial products. At London Collections: Men on Tuesday, Tom Ford announced that he is going to launch a men’s grooming line by the end of this year. Already having success with his women’s beauty line, it feels right for the open makeup fanatic to create his own men’s line. Men wearing makeup, or rather men grooming themselves, is gaining momentum and Ford might be riding out this wave with his nine piece collection. Even Marc Jacobs has hinted at this rise with his unisex range ‘Boy Tested Girl Approved,’ which is a part of his collaboration with Sephora.
According to WWD the luxury skin care products are “multifunctional skin-care and grooming products, including a face cleanser, moisturizer, eye treatment, purifying mud mask, concealer and bronzing gel.” Two new fragrances are also going to be added to Ford’s Private Blend collection and released at the same time as the skin care line.
With women already having millions of options in cosmetics lines, it’s finally time for the men to have some choices, and what’s a better choice than Tom Ford?
